Happy Not Valentines Day because it’s currently August! Yes, lame, I’m not very humorous. 
As promised, here are my Chocolate Mocha Heart-shaped Macarons. I did say I was going to make chocolate macarons, but since I had so much mocha buttercream leftover from my cake, I decided to fill these macarons with the buttercream instead of making a chocolate ganache.
I wanted to experiment with how to change macaron designs and decoration techniques. As you can see, I used the stardust method again in the same way I did with my Pandan Macarons. But obviously, I changed my macaron shape into hearts.
All I did was draw hearts on the back of my baking paper, like I’d normally do with normal macarons. To be completely honest, I didn’t know how to properly pipe my macarons, but after a couple of tries, I soon got a steady pattern and rhythm to piping.
Take my Pandan Macaron recipe, replace the green food colouring with red colouring, and replace the pandan essence in the buttercream with some melted dark chocolate and a couple of teaspoons of espresso syrup.
